Operation Grouse on the Hardangervidda plateau

With us you can learn more about Operation Grouse, which is the first of the four known heavy water sabotages. Operation Grouse ("grouse" in Norwegian) took place on the Hardangervidda plateau and in the area where the Hardangervidda National Park Center is located.

At the visitor center you can learn more about the operation itself and what the months in the mountains were like for the four locally known Linge soldiers; Jens Anton Poulsson, Claus Helberg, Arne Kjelstrup and Knut Haugland.
